Mia Englund Memorial Scholarship
The Mia Englund Memorial Scholarship is awarded to one recipient of the Building Contractors Association and the Workforce Development Council’s Special Trade Scholarship in the amount of $2,911. This amount is significant because Mia’s birthday was 2‑9‑11, and the verse that guided her through her life and her struggles with congenital heart defects was Jeremiah 29:11.
Mia had a passion for building homes and a legacy of monumental volunteering, giving, and fundraising—remarkable contributions for an angel of only 11 years old. In her memory, we hope this scholarship acts as a catalyst to make an impact in the industry and, as a result, the community we all serve.
