Final Touches Underway at The New American Home 2026

Watching a new home come to life in the final stages of construction is a satisfying experience — not just for the owners, but for the builder as well. That feeling is only amplified when the home is a focal point of the NAHB International Builders’ Show® (IBS) — the world’s largest light construction trade show.

The build team of The New American Home® 2026 is putting the finishing touches on the project ahead of its official debut at IBS, Feb. 17-19. And no one is more thrilled to showcase the finished product than its lead builder, Daniel Kennerly, partner at Alair Homes Orlando.

“This is the exciting part,” Kennerly said of the final phase of construction. “This is when everyday you see something new that’s actually a finish detail … and you realize this house is going to be amazing at the end.”

One of the eye-catching features of The New American Home 2026 is an illuminated, floating staircase in the foyer.

Kennerly noted how seamlessly the colors and finishes of the cabinets, floors, ceiling panels, and other elements throughout the home are coming together. And by partnering with more than 65 suppliers, he is eager to showcase a wide variety of the latest product innovations to those who visit the home.

“[There are] so many products that are being debuted or released at IBS this year that are in The [New American] Home,” he said. “[So,] not only will people be able to see them [on the exhibit floor], but as they tour the house, they’ll also see them installed in a home.”

Guided tours of the home will be available to registered IBS 2026 attendees. Free tickets for the complimentary shuttle bus to the home — as well as to The New American Remodel® 2026 — will be distributed at The New American Home booth (W40) in the West Hall of the Orange County Convention Center on a first-come, first-served basis each day of the show beginning at 7:30 a.m.
