How to Market to and Design for the Aging-in-Place Client

The market for building homes with aging-in-place modifications continues to grow in the United States with the median age of the country’s population nearing 40 years old.

Despite 30% of the U.S. being over the age of 55, just 17% of NAHB’s members build age-restricted housing for people 55+, according to the 2024 Member Census. Remodeling is also a popular way to satisfy customers looking to stay in their current homes.

Upcoming Webinars

NAHB will host three CAPS (certified aging-in-place specialist) webinars (open to members and non-members) in November to teach the technical, business management, and customer service skills necessary to complete modifications for aging-in-place.
