Plan to Attend the NAHB Leadership Meetings at the 2024 International Builders’ Show

As you prepare your schedule for the 2024 NAHB International Builders’ Show® (IBS), Feb. 27-29, remember to plan for the NAHB leadership meetings also taking place in Las Vegas, starting Feb. 23. Members of NAHB’s committees and councils, delegates to the Leadership Council, and members of the Board of Directors will meet to discuss key issues facing the industry.

For members and HBA staff who are not able to travel to Las Vegas for IBS, there are several opportunities to view livestreams of key NAHB member meetings happening throughout the week. The livestream links below require member log-in. Please note that the meeting times are listed in the Pacific time zone.

Board of Directors Meeting
Saturday, Feb. 24, 2:30-5 p.m. PT
Thursday, Feb. 29, 12:45-2:30 p.m. PT

Members of the board will convene twice during IBS to hear key reports and make decisions regarding business matters of the Association. Immediately following the Saturday board meeting, the National Housing Center Board of Governors will present a special National Housing Hall of Fame induction ceremony for former NAHB president and CEO Jerry Howard.

NAHB Meeting of the Members
Wednesday, Feb. 28, 8:30-9:30 a.m. PT

This year’s annual meeting features a residential construction forecast by NAHB Chief Economist Robert Dietz and a political forecast from CEO Jim Tobin. Members will also elect the 2024 delegates to the NAHB Leadership Council.

Leadership Council Meeting
Thursday, Feb. 29, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. PT

Leadership Council delegates will hear updates on emerging issues facing the industry and Federation, and consider two policy resolutions proposed by fellow delegates. Delegates will also elect the 2024 Senior Officers of the Board.

Resolutions and recommendations may still be submitted for consideration but will require a two-thirds majority vote, rather than a simple majority, for passage. To submit a resolution or recommendation, please contact NAHB staff member Marc Daniels.

FEMA Meeting with Members
Sunday, Feb. 25, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.; 12:30-2:30 p.m. PT

FEMA is considering changes to the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and will hold two roundtable discussions at IBS to collect NAHB members’ input. The meetings are open to all members and will be offered at two times on Sunday, Feb. 25. If you who work in or near floodplains, your projects are likely impacted by the NFIP. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to have your voice heard on the future of floodplain management.

Access to the Meetings

Your IBS registration will grant you access to your respective NAHB leadership meetings; no other registration is required. Only voting members of NAHB’s various leadership bodies (Board of Directors, Leadership Council, Committees, etc.) will have voting privileges in their respective assemblies.

Meeting Resources

Meeting agendas and other meeting materials will be posted on the respective leadership, committee and council webpages over the next few weeks.

Members also are encouraged to review the new NAHB National Meeting Resource Guide to optimize their time and enhance their meeting experience.
